From Practice to Performance: Connecting Through Music
|
Dear ,
At Metro Music Makers, we believe that music is more than a skill—it’s a language of connection. Every time our students sit down with their instruments or lift their voices in song, they’re not only growing in their craft—they're also building bridges to the world around them.
This is why performance opportunities matter so much. They give our students a chance to share who they are, to express something uniquely their own, and to engage meaningfully with their peers, families, and community. It’s not about perfection—it’s about participation. About courage. About stepping up and saying, “This is me.”
We’re thrilled to invite you to our Spring Showcase on May 11, where our students will do just that—take the stage and share their musical journey. Whether it’s their first time performing or their fiftieth, every note is a step forward in confidence, expression, and connection.
If your student would like to perform, please be sure to register here by this Friday!
We can’t wait to celebrate with you.
Keep learning, keep growing, and let the music lead the way.

Bringing the joy of music to students at Vickery Mill!
Metro Music Makers was honored to donate several keyboards to Fulton County Schools to be used in L.E.A.P. at Vickery Mill Elementary in Roswell.
Metro Music Makers teacher Walter Whelchel, who also teaches at Vickery Mill, reports that the keyboards have been a BIG hit. "Ever since we took those keyboards out of the boxes, students have been flocking to them," he shares. "The best thing is that behavior has shifted in only a few days because they know if they are not abiding by the school rules and being respectful, they won't get a chance to go to the music center! I see great things happening... Thanks so much for this!"
In fact, so many kids want to play the keyboard that teachers had to institute a time limit to allow everyone a chance to play. Walter also reports that only a week after receiving the keyboards, some of the kids were playing full songs already.
We love bringing the joy of music wherever we can! |

Student Workshops Are a Great Replacement for Missed Lessons |
We are continuing our exciting new student workshop series, designed to enhance our students' learning experience and boost their musicianship. These engaging masterclasses focus on key areas of music theory, technique, and performance, giving our students the tools and confidence to excel as a musician.
Bonus: We understand the importance of making up missed lessons, and our workshops offer a flexible and beneficial alternative. Each workshop counts as one make-up lesson, regardless of its duration, offering more options for our students to stay on track with their studies. However, due to limited space, sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t delay in securing a spot.
