Why Songwriting Is More Than Just Music

Dear ,

Music has a way of capturing our thoughts, emotions, and experiences in ways that words alone never could. Whether you’re an experienced musician, an occasional shower singer, or simply someone who appreciates a great song, you know the magic that happens when music connects with our hearts.

That’s why I love teaching songwriting. It’s not just about learning how to write lyrics or piece together melodies—it’s about self-expression, confidence, and creativity. Last semester, we watched young students discover their voices, shape their stories through music, and build the courage to share them. It was incredible.

This semester, we’re expanding our Online Songwriting Class, giving young musicians even more time to explore and grow. With two 7-week sessions, they’ll have more opportunities to collaborate, refine their ideas, and develop confidence in their unique musical voice.

If you know a child who’s always making up songs, scribbling down lyrics, or humming new tunes, this class could be the perfect place for them to thrive. The first session starts Thursday, February 6, and spots are limited!

And even if you’re not signing up for this class, I encourage you to embrace the creativity in your own life—whether through music, writing, or whatever makes you feel most alive.

🎼 Let’s keep creating together.

Keep learning, keep growing, and let the music lead the way,
