Connecting Through Music: Honoring Dr. King
Dear , |
|
This week, I’ve been thinking a lot about connection and how deeply music is woven into the way we relate to one another. With Martin Luther King Jr. Day, it felt like the right moment to pause and reflect.
Martin Luther King Jr. believed deeply in bringing people together across differences. Music played a powerful role in that work. During the Civil Rights Movement, songs were not just something people sang. They were a way to feel courage, hope, and unity in moments that were anything but easy.
That idea feels especially meaningful as we continue our theme of Connecting Through Music this year.
At Metro Music Makers, I see connection happen every day in small but powerful ways. It happens when a student plays alongside their teacher. When two people listen closely to each other. When someone finds the confidence to express something through music that they cannot quite put into words yet.
Music has a way of slowing us down and opening us up. It invites us to listen more deeply to ourselves and to one another. It reminds us that we are not alone.
As we honor Dr. King this week, I hope we can all take a moment to notice the ways music helps us connect, build understanding, and move forward together.
Thank you for being part of this community and for trusting us to be part of your musical journey.
Keep learning, keep growing, and let the music lead the way.

"We have been very pleased with Music Makers and their communication with us. My daughter absolutely loves Ms. Krystal! She is very patient and encourages my daughter in her piano lessons. I can tell Ms. Krystal loves what she does and passes that passion to her students." |
