Be Their Biggest Fan

Your encouragement means the world to your performer. Here’s how to make it part of their big day.

Dear ,

Every performer remembers that one face in the audience, the person whose eyes lit up and whose smile said, “You’ve got this.” Whether your child is taking the stage for the very first time or the fiftieth, your presence and encouragement mean more than you might imagine.

Being a great audience isn’t just about clapping at the right moments. It’s about showing up fully for the moment, leaning forward in your seat, cheering from your heart, and letting your performer know you’re their biggest fan. These small gestures create big memories, giving students the confidence to express themselves and celebrate how far they’ve come.

At Metro Music Makers, we love watching families cheer on their musicians, and we want to help you capture that spirit in a special way. This year, we’re offering Showcase Shout-Outs, a chance to share a few words of encouragement or congratulations in the printed program for your student’s performance.

And for the first time ever, we’re introducing video Showcase Shout-Outs! You’ll soon have the opportunity to record a short message to your performer that will play during the event, a heartfelt way to let them know just how proud you are.

Turn your child’s showcase program into a keepsake with a personalized shout-out. 👉Click here to learn more.

Details about how to submit video Showcase Shout-Outs will be coming soon. Get ready to clap, cheer, and celebrate your musician, because every performer deserves a great audience.

Keep learning, keep growing, and let the music lead the way.

Welcoming New Music Teacher, Naomi Israel

We are excited to welcome new teacher Naomi Israel to our Metro Music Makers team! Naomi teaches oboe, flute, and piano.

Naomi has a Master's of Music in Oboe Performance, a Certificate in Public Musicology, a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology, and a Bachelor's of Music in Oboe Performance. She has experience performing piccolo, flute, oboe, and English horn in a variety of ensemble settings, and she currently plays oboe with the Atlanta Wind Symphony.

Naomi has been teaching private lessons since 2019, giving her time to establish a strong personal mission as a teacher. “I want to provide a solid musical foundation, including fundamental techniques and habits that establish safe practices for long-term musicianship,” she shares. “This includes an early introduction to elements of music theory and history, and a focus on efficient and positive practice strategies that encourage overall well-being, health, and creativity in musical spaces,” she continues.

Naomi enjoys making connections with her students that go beyond music or the lesson time, including making every effort to be at performances, or watching the recordings if she can’t attend. “As a bonus, I also love being invited to events or games outside of the student’s musical performances,” she shares. “I think it’s important to have passions and goals that aren’t musical, and I love seeing my students doing what they love even when it’s not music! “

Naomi also enjoys swimming, hiking, and rock climbing. “I find joy in movement, and love trying new sports and classes for the fun of learning something new!” she shares.
