A Season for Sharing Music
Our Winter Showcase is almost here, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you.
Dear , |
|
This week has been buzzing with excitement as we get ready for our Winter Showcase on Saturday. It is always one of my favorite events of the year. There is something special about watching students of all ages step onstage, share their hard work, and shine in a room full of people cheering them on. It truly feels like the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.
As we move into this time of gathering and tradition, I am reminded of my own fondest memories from the holidays. Every Christmas, I would give a little concert for my grandmother. She would sit for hours and listen while I sightread through holiday favorites, and we would sing together too. She is no longer with us, but every year I still sit at the family piano and think of her. Those moments are more precious than anything we could have wrapped and placed under the tree. They stay with me in a way no physical gift ever could. They are a reminder of how powerful it is to share music with the people we love.

That is why I want to encourage our students to play for family and friends throughout the holiday season. The holidays naturally bring people together, and music has a beautiful way of deepening those connections. Whether it is a short performance in the living room, a song shared around the dinner table, or a holiday tune played by the tree, these musical moments often become the memories that last.
As we look ahead, this idea will be at the heart of what we do in 2026. We want to help our students use music as a meaningful way to connect with others, not only through skill and growth but through joy, creativity, and shared experiences. Music has always connected people, and we are excited to center that in the year ahead.
Thank you for being part of our community and for supporting your musician all year long. We cannot wait to celebrate with you this Saturday.
Keep learning, keep growing, and let the music lead the way. Allison Jarrell π΅

Cakes for a Great Cause!
Longtime Metro Music Makers student Lily Tiemann has her own baking business, and she has been baking up some delicious personal-sized cakes to sell before and after our upcoming Winter Showcase. Besides their amazing taste, the best part about the cakes is that Lily is donating $2 from every cake sold to a wonderful organization, The Sam Foundation. And the icing on the cake? Metro Music Makers will match the total Lily raises for the foundation with a donation of our own!
The Sam Foundation (Suicide Awareness Means HOPE) offers suicide prevention education, resources, and awareness in Georgia and Alabama and reaches the globe virtually. This important non-profit's hope is to change the way our communities view mental health and serve as a resource to those who have been affected by suicide, therefore making our communities more suicide safe. Through their evidence-based trainings, the SAM Foundation reaches a variety of community members, corporate groups, educators, first responders, and mental health professionals.
Lily will be selling her delicious holiday-themed cakes for $8 in the lobby before and after the showcase, so look out for her table and grab a cake for your performer AND for you! (Lily will be accepting credit cards, Venmo payments, and cash.) |

What Parents Are Saying... |
|
"We could not recommend Metro Music Makers more! Other music programs were hesitant to let our son play electric guitar at a young age and preferred for him to follow a more generalized plan, which can be great, but he knew what he wanted to do. It's now over a year later, and he has progressed so much. Heβs even teaching us how to play now! Huge shout-out to Coach Chris for taking on a little one and learning how to make it both fun and age-appropriate for him!"
